Not yet part of the Matcha-lover club or still looking for a new recipe after the iced Matcha latte hype? Hold our tea: we’ve got a drink you’ll want to try. Comforting and energising at once, this cup brings creamy chocolate together with fine, earthy Matcha. Here’s how:
Ingredients (for 1 glass, approx. 300 ml)
- 2 g (≈ 1 tsp) Matcha powder
- 60 ml hot water (80 °C)
- 200 ml milk or oat drink
- 10 g dark chocolate (finely chopped)
- 1 tsp maple syrup (optional)
- A pinch of salt
Preparation
- Whisk the Matcha with hot water until smooth.
- Warm the milk with chocolate and salt in a small pot until the chocolate melts.
- Stir in the maple syrup.
- Pour the Matcha into a glass and top with the hot chocolate.
- Finish with milk foam or cacao nibs, if you like.
Tip: For extra creaminess, briefly blend the mixture with a milk frother – it creates a silky, velvety texture.
